Chesapeake, Virginia Facility
Our Information Technology Division specializes in networking hardware and software integration engineering services. Staffed with personnel experienced in all aspects of information technology, we are specialists in Navy-wide communications systems, Network Engineering, Information Assurance, and Technical Training with a proven ability to provide leading edge solutions.

Our support includes Submarine Operating Authority Network Engineers providing IP connectivity to units of the Atlantic and Pacific Fleets, Submarine Communications Specialists providing onboard technical support and training to all classes of submarines, and Information Assurance Analysts that assist the Navy with Certification and Accreditation of their Communications and Network Systems. Our Submarine Technical Support Team and Network Engineers are universally recognized as subject matter experts for problem resolution, providing in-depth mentoring and training for the Atlantic and Pacific submarine fleets.

We specialize in the development of curriculum that provides attendees with an intense, fast paced course of study which is modifiable to ensure that personnel of all experience levels will benefit from the training. Normal classroom regimen includes lecture and laboratory designed to reinforce the concepts discussed during the classroom phase.

Our network engineers in the Norfolk office are industry leaders in the emerging field of network baselining, which involves changes in network performance before these changes become debilitating. This expertise can be applied to both military and civilian networks.

The Information Technology Team is located around the world with System Engineers and Analysts in Newport RI, Groton CT, Naples Italy, Yokosuka Japan, Pearl Harbor HI, as well as Norfolk. We support multiple Navy program offices, warfare centers, and work directly with the submarine fleet.

Our Norfolk office also provides specialized Information Assurance (IA) Certification & Accreditation (C&A) support to multiple Navy program offices and warfare centers and often work directly with the submarine fleet. The Predicate Logic Metro office staff is skilled in developing System Security Authorization Agreements (SSAAs) and other C&A documentation for systems at all classification levels and ranging in size from individual software applications to integrated shipwide network-centric architectures. We provide key insight for numerous Navy submarine programs as they work to deliver secure tactical system configurations to the fleet and have extensive familiarity with all DoD and DCID IA requirements and configuration guidelines. Our analysts are respected members of many submarine communications, combat system and IA working groups and are frequently asked to act as liaisons to IA certifying authorities, including the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Naval Network Warfare Command (NETWARCOM).

Predicate Logic’s Information Assurance Analysts have experience performing IA engineering and Certification/Accreditation process management for projects ranging in size and complexity, from individual software applications to enterprise-wide networks integrating multiple subsystems. This experience includes:

  • C&A lifecycle support, in accordance with Department of Defense Information Technology Certification and Accreditation Process (DITSCAP), Director of Central Intelligence Directive (DCID) 6/3, and Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) standards.
  • DoD and DCID requirements analysis.
  • DITSCAP, DIACAP, and DoDIIS C&A documentation development.
  • Network security vulnerability scanning and penetration testing.
  • IA Trusted Agent (TA) training and support.
  • IA program planning and management.
  • Security product evaluation and selection support.

Charleston, South Carolina Facility
Our Charleston office provides program management, C4 engineering, training development, and logistics support for SPAWARSYSCEN Charleston and in particular the following programs: Element Management System (EMS), Digital Modular Radio (DMR), Automated Radio Communications (ARC), Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS), and Common Submarine Radio Room (CSRR).

Our Subject Matter Experts (SMEís) provide direct support to the Common Submarine Radio Room (CSRR) Integrated Test Facility (ITF). This support includes the configuration and testing of all CSRR ship sets prior to shipment to the fleet for installation. Our SMEs test, troubleshoot, implement engineering changes, and provide critical feedback on technical issues and test procedures. We develop test procedures, provide detail reports and repair systems as needed. Our CSRR SMEs also provide direct fleet support to the CSRR team for installation support, System Operational Verification Test (SOVT), underway training, and on board troubleshooting and repair of CSRR systems and components world-wide.

Our training personnel have developed formal Navy training curriculum per MILSTD 131A for the AN/USQ-162(V)1 Element Management System (EMS) and the AN/USC-61 Digital Modular Radio (DMR). These efforts included providing Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to the Fleet Training Center in San Diego, CA in support of the Navyís Pilot Course and first course of instruction. In addition to the development of the training, PL Charleston personnel have been providing on-the-job fleet training for both of these systems in support of new installations and follow-on training prior to the formal Navy School house training being approved for use. This included teaching part of the Navyís LHD Exterior Communications (EXCOMM) Course at the Fleet Training Center in Dam Neck, VA.

Charlestonís Logistics team has developed documentation for the AN/USQ-162(V)1 and (V)2 Element Management System and the AN/USQ-162(V)3 Automated Radio Communications (ARC) System to include System Engineering Plans, NTSPs, ULSS, Userís Manuals, Administratorís Manuals, Operator Manuals, Technical Manuals, APL request, nomenclature request, and various other documents. In addition to the logistics support our personnel provided Engineering and Program Management in support. This support included being key members in Design Engineering Working Groups, Integration Working Groups, Hardware Engineering Working Groups, and RCS Working Groups. Additionally our personnel provided critical support for Environmental Testing per MILSTDs 167-1A, 461E, 810F and 901D/E and in Fleet Liaison and SHIPMAIN processes.
